Bio

I grew up in Florida and graduated from Martin County High School in Stuart, Florida. I attended Florida State University and my sister attended the University of Florida. (Fortunately for my parents, she is not an avid football fan like I am.) I am married to Rob Paradise, who is the principal at North Jackson High School. We have been married for 27 years. We have two sons. Payton is a first year medical school student and John Morgan is junior at the University of North Alabama. My favorite things to do are to read, cook, play tennis and travel.

Dear Parents,

I am Kandice Paradise, the school counselor at Nelson Elementary School.  I have been a counselor for 24 years and been at Nelson for 12 years.  I am excited and proud to be a part of this wonderful school community.  I look forward to meeting and getting to know you during your child’s years here at Nelson

I am available to help you Monday through Friday.
As a school counselor, I work with parents and students in many ways and offer different counseling services.  Each service is aimed at helping children learn and develop to their highest potential.  Some of the services in the School Counseling Program are:

*Individual and small group sessions to help children adjust to school or other personal concerns.

*Classroom lessons to help children learn how to get along with others, make appropriate choices, improve communication skills and become aware of career choices and exploration.

*Consult with students, parents, and teachers to make school a positive environment for learning to take place.

These are a few of the services the guidance program offers.  If you would like more information the Nelson Elementary Comprehensive Guidance Plan is available on our school’s website. If you have questions or wish to see me about your child, please contact me:
